"Bandung Lautan Api" Torch Parade 2018 Part One

So three days ago Bandung held up a torch parade to commemorate a historical moment named Bandung Lautan Api that happened in 1946. They invited some senior and junior high schools to participating this parade, and my school was one of them.

Back to one week ago when I was doing some shit in my class, my friend who is behind me got called by my another friend. when he was back to class he holding a paper that contain a list. I ask him what is it and he say it's everything that he has to prepared for Bandung Lautan Api.

I got a little bit shocked because I thought our school will not participating in that parade this year because the parade will be hold at 23 March and at 24 March our school has to attending another event called Safety Road, and usually Bandung Lautan Api (which we will shortened with BLA from now on) take time from afternoon to midnight, soooo I don't think anyone can attending the next event due to tired and lack of sleep.

(Not everyone in my school can be a participant in an event, usually they will delegate a delegation that they take from the school committee)

And I ask him again who will participating the BLA parade this year, and he said everyone in junior school committee and some of the freshman will be a participant for this year.

The next day it's my team time to guard my gate's school (to list everyone who wearing make up to school or bring a cigarette or late and et cetera) and my another friend who called my classmate yesterday is guarding the gate with my team and she is one of the school committee exchequer

I ask her about the yesterday moment.

"What did you give to (my classmate friend) yesterday?"

"Oh it's just a list for the BLA parade. He will attending the technical meeting so I made him a little list so he can be prepared."

(I pretend to not knowing anything so she will give me further information)

"OH? The BLA parade? why there is no formulir to register our name like last year? or am I miss an information?"

"No, no. this year the BLA parade participant is choosed by us (her, the school committee vice, and secretary)."

"If that so, am I will be one of the participant?"

"No.


But you will be the participant of the Safety road with the junior school committee"

OKay oKAy IT's OkAy EveRyOnE oN SeNiOR scHoL coMitE WiLL bE On The bLa PAraDe ExeCPt mEee okay okay, that's okay I'm fine I'm not really want to go though, holiday at home is waaaaaay more fun than attending a parade. It's fine.

"Eh? Reaally?? Why don't you choose me to be one of the participant? I never got a chance to be a participant last year.

"Yeah you know, I'm afraid your parent will not allowing you to attend this parade cause it will end at midnight."

I'm a little bit shocked at this point, but I keep my face calm ant my tone down.

"But, but that time when we training basic leadership to the freshman, we camped there for like two days and my parent allow me to do so."

"Yeah, but you know the proposal has been given to the school's student vice, so nothing can be change anymore."

 I keep my resentful feeling deep down cause a good muslimah have to be patience with every situation. 

And then not long enough after that conversation and awkward silence she excuse herself to go to the class early because she has something to do, I can't remember what it's.

I just let her go, nodding while put a smile on my face and a knife in my heart.

And I had a really badmood for the rest of the day.
